Subject: July 4th Parade Skaters Unite

Skateboarders unite. Join the Hendersonville Kids Alliance to Skate in Hendersonville’s July 4th Parade and skate Main Street…legally for a change.

The Hendersonville Kids Alliance to Skate invites all skateboarders to bring a board and helmet, and join us in the parade line-up to demonstrate support of the recently approved Patton Park skate plaza. Meet up with Kids Alliance members at noon, July 4th, at the Five Points intersection.  Get on Board.

Hendersonville has a large population of skateboard enthusiasts with no legal safe place to practice and enjoy their sport. A Hendersonville city ordinance prohibits skating upon any surface unless the skating area is designated by the city. As a result, a group of local teenagers and parents formed the Hendersonville Kids Alliance to Skate in March of 2006 to address the needs of skaters in our area and bring awareness to the community.
